Assesing Your Strengths and Weaknesses

I have a lot of strengths and weaknesses in the four goal areas. In rhetorical knowledge I can write to specific audience and appeal to what they want to read about. My weakness in this goal is sometimes I structure the paper the wrong way. My strength in critical thinking, reading, and writing is that I can help the readers see why my point of view works the best. My weakness is I have a hard time including the other point of view into my writing. In writing processes my strength is that I make many drafts of my writings, but my weakness is that I have a hard time following the steps of the writing process. My strength in knowledge of conventions is that I can put the puncuation where it needs to be. My weakness in this goal is that I have a hard time with word choice.

Siobhan, I like how you discuss your stengths as well as your weaknesses in each catagory. I notice that you have a hard time giving and/or seeing other points of view in the critical thinking, reading, and writing. I have the exact same weakness. I see that you are good at using Rhetorical knowledge. Thats good because so am I. Very nice blog and I'm glad I got to know your writing goals better.

Siobhan, we seem to have similar strengths and weaknesses, especially in the area of rhetorical writing. Conveying a solid message isn’t always the difficult part, but rather structuring your paper in such a way that it best supports your ideas and observations and is reader friendly at the same time. For critical reading, writing, and thinking I agree with you as well. I can always support my point but often fail to include the opposing idea. Lastly, as far as knowledge of conventions, word choice is tricky, but nonetheless crucial to your paper. So if you feel that is a weakness of yours, I encourage you to really search out new or alternative word choices in your writing. Great post, keep up the good work.
